More Aasen and Alzheimer Society supporters joined the golfers for an entertaining evening including Brad Ewart's "trick shot" exhibition, a martini bar, dinner and the silent auction.
Special thanks to Carter GM, Glotman-Simpson Group of Companies, Ideon Investments, Sierra Wireless, Blake Cassels & Graydon and
all supporting sponsors and volunteers who donated their time, services or prizes to make this event the success that it was.
In its three-year existence the Flora Aasen Memorial Pro-Am has raised over $135,000 that is being used to fund research, support, education and advocacy services at the Alzheimer Society of B.C. With continued generosity and support from those involved, we look forward to many years of success, both with this tournament and in our fight to support people who struggle daily with the challenges and losses that accompany Alzheimer Disease.

John and Greg Aasen founded this event in memory of their mother Flora
Aasen, who passed away in January 2000 due to complications from Alzheimer Disease. As a tribute to Flora, the Pro-Am is a celebration of her life and a great way for family and friends to remember her in a familiar setting. Aasen says,
"Anytime you can use golf as a vehicle to help contribute to such a great cause, we've been successful. I think my family is most proud of the community awareness we are creating. This year in particular, with difficult economic times, the strong support continued!"
