My mother was the consummate giver; her family was her top priority. She was a wonderful partner, grandmother and friend. Devoted to her kids she volunteered for everything – soccer, hockey, baseball and golf. Just assisting wasn’t enough, she had to prepare baskets of food for the whole team and, although this embarrassed us at the time, our teammates gobbled up the food making us proud to have a mom like ours. When it came to volunteering at school activities
Mom didn’t sell hot dogs or raffle tickets, she dressed up as a clown and entertained us all. She gave us all the freedom to learn and passed on all the important life skills only a mother can teach.

As a partner she gave new meaning to marriage. She had many friendships but none longer and more sincere than that with my dad. Their love for each other shone through filled with laughter and happiness that lasted 45 years.

Outside of the family, Flora enjoyed her friends and golf. Unique was her ability to make complete strangers feel like old friends. A vivacious personality and her warm sincerity connected her to people. She was the life of the party and passionate in her belief “that if you can’t have a good laugh, too bad!” On the golf course you could hear her three fairways over, not cursing rather laughing and joking. She taught all those that golfed with her and me how to enjoy the game of golf. Rarely breaking a 100, she kept everything in perspective and her attitude inspired us all to enjoy every moment of life to its fullest.

Her kind heart and wonderful sense of humor is missed but her memory will go on forever!
